There may be some ethical issues since many charities benefit people dealing with addictions and other issues that have a relationship to gambling, but in the long run, the money is being given to charities, which is a good thing. If people are able to donate the money they win to charities, they probably have enough money to pay for their own needs, since that is first priority.
